Mary Joyce Boliver, 94, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, in Amarillo.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010, in the First Baptist Church in Hedley with Rev. Bruce Howard, Pastor, officiating. Interment was held at Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Services were under the arrangement of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.
Joyce was born on October 14, 1916, in Wise County to Homer and Myrtle Brown Tinsley. She had been a resident of Hedley for most of her life. She married David Edward “Ed” Boliver on September 28, 1939, in Hedley. Before her retirement, she was a teacher for many years at Hedley Schools where she taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade.
She enjoyed quilting and was always there for granddaughter. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hedley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on September 29, 1984; a brother, Doug Tinsley; and a sister, Doris Bobo.
Survivors include her two sons, Jim Boliver and wife Sharon of Amarillo and David Boliver, Jr. and wife Alene of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her granddaughter, Angie Boliver.
The family requests that memorials be to the Rowe Cemetery Association.
