Lady Owls start season with win

The Hedley Lady Owls began their 2011 season last week with a hard fought win against the Booker Lady Kiowas.

The game started out with Booker quickly taking the lead, outscoring the Lady Owls in the first quarter 15 to 9. The Lady Owls began to overcome their first game jitters and closed the game to just four points at the end of the first half.

The second half the Lady Owls began to pull ahead of Booker and won the game 40 to 32.

Scoring for the Lady Owls were Sierra Wheatly 15, Kassidy Burton 11, Bailey Wood 5, Sierra Shelp 3, and Becca Butler, Salem Shelp and Kati Adams with 2 points each.

The Lady Owls and Owls will be playing in Amarillo this week against Arbor Academy game time is 6:30.
