Senior Wes Williams has been named as the 2-1A All-District Offensive MVP according to head football coach Gary Jack.
Williams, a 5’7”, 210-pound Senior played hard for the Broncos and racked up 1476 yards on 245 attempts and 17 touchdowns from his running back position. He also had 77 yards receiving for two scores and had 159 yards on kickoff returns. His all-purpose yards amounted to 1750 and 20 TDs, two two-point conversions, and 124 total points scored.
Williams not only excelled on offense, but his defensive skills were an asset to the 2011 Bronco football team. He was named to the Second Team defense at the linebacker position.
Austin McNelly was named as the first team center and Jacob Pigg and Nathan Dziedzic were named to the offensive line. Charleston Harris was also named as running back and Jerami Johnson was named to the team as a receiver.
Named to the first team defensive line was Jacob Pigg and Tres Hommel. Jayson Pigg and Trevor Cobb were named to the linebacker spot and Johnson was also on the defensive back list. “We were well represented on the All-District team, with Wesley Williams as Offensive MVP and Jacob Pigg, Jerami Johnson first team both ways, offensive and defensive, to highlight our selections,” Jack said.
Several Broncos were named to the 2nd Team All-District as well and Chance McAnear was named as the 2nd team quarterback and punter. Jayson Pigg was named to the offensive line and Trevor Cobb and Cole Ward were named as receivers. Nathan Dziedzic was recognized for his work on the defensive line and Williams was named to the linebacker position. Defensive back honors went to Diego Santos and Jonah Sell.
Honorable mentions were given to Chris Schultz, John Pigg, Jonah Sell, and Diego Santos on the offensive side and Charleston Harris and Tyler Smith were mentioned on the defensive side.
