Lloyd L. Kirby, 85, of Alma passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, in his home. He was a retired oilfield drilling superintendent for Union Texas Petroleum, a member of Alma First Baptist Church and a member of American Legion-Fort Smith post. He was an avid golfer and had traveled extensively, living in Singapore, Malaysia, North Sea, and the Texas Gulf Coast. He also enjoyed many cruises with his wife, Mary, family and friends. He was a devoted family man who loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Amos and Louise Blair-Kirby; an infant son, Randy Bruce Kirby; and a brother, Wendell Kirby.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; two daughters, Fonda Grant and husband John (Rich) of Fort Smith and Debra Davis of Whitesboro, Texas; three sons, Rick Kirby and wife Stephanie of Edmond, Okla., Ken Kirby and wife Alison of Tyler, Texas, and Michael Davis and wife Julia of Manchester, Tenn.; a sister, Wanda Beddingfield of Clarendon, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Kirby of The Woodland, Texas, and Hazel Martin of Short; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma with burial at Hall Cemetery with Marine Military Guard.
