Workmen with Martins Sheet Metal put the finishing touches on a new copper skin for the steeple of Clarendon’s First Baptist Church Monday. Pastor Lance Wood said work on the steeple of the 1969 church became necessary due to leaks that developed in the structure. Wood also said that speakers and an access door in the structure were covered over by the new skin. Complaints about the speakers over the years had led to the church to discontinue using them, Wood said. Enterprise Photo / Roger Estlack
