Life Scout Trent Smith receives a certificate of appreciation from Clarendon Mayor Larry Hicks Monday afternoon for his work in painting 20 fire hydrants around the city. Smith did the work as a service project as he works towards his Eagle Scout rank. Hedley NHS members sponsored a “Be Thankful” canned food drive. The kids at Hedley School collected 498 pounds of food that was donated to the Hedley Senior Citizen center for distribution to elderly residents of Hedley.
