Donley and Armstrong county emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident near the west county line Wednesday morning, July 1. A 2013 Toyota Scion driven by an Arizona man struck a deer and was stopped in the outside lane, according to DPS Trooper Kelly Hill. As the man and his passenger were out of the car looking at the deer, a Chevy Traverse driven by Jimmy Booth of Memphis came over the hill and ran into the back of the Scion. Booth was issued a citation for failure to control speed, and Booth’s wife, Beverly was transported to an Amarillo hospital for treatment. Enterprise Photo / Roger Estlack
Kati Adams of Hedley has won a $10,000 Ft. Worth Stock Show Syndicate in memory of James M. Norman Memorial Scholarship. Adams, a member of Donley 4-H, plans to attend Clarendon College. More than 55,000 Texas youth are members of 4-H community clubs in the state. The program, part of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, prepares youth to meet the challenges of childhood, adolescence and adulthood, through educational experiences in leadership, citizenship and life skills.
