Estlack Bantams continued a family tradition over the weekend, capturing several awards, including the Championship of the Junior Show, at the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo. Nathan Estlack earned a Tri-State belt buckle when he won the Grand Champion of the Junior Show with a Black Breasted Red Old English, he also had the champion AOCCL with a Dark Cornish and the Champion Old English. Daniel Estlack showed the Champion Modern with a Black Modern, Elaina Estlack had the Champion Duck with an Apricot Call duck, and Benjamin Estlack had the Champion Feather Leg with a Black Cochin. A new barn owned by Dan Sawyer and located north of Clarendon is consumed by flames Monday evening. Clarendon volunteer firemen were paged at 6:52 p.m. and were quickly on the scene, but the structure was fully involved. Firemen were able to protect Sawyer’s nearby residence from any fire or heat damage, and the barn fire was full extinguished by 8:45. Hedley and Howardwick fire departments provided mutual aid.
