The 2024-2025 Lady Bronco team is stacked with talented juniors and seniors who are ready for a great season. Their first wins came last week against Texline and Stratford. They defeated Texline 55-37 and won 47-42 over the Lady Elks.
Four players finished in double figures against Texline with junior Kashlyn Conkin going three for three from the arc to finish with 11. Presley smith, Kenidee Hayes, and Kate Shaw dropped 10 points each in the win. The Lady Broncos jumped out early to take a commanding lead and were able to hold off anything the Lady Tornadoes tried. Kennadie Cummins added six points to the total, Berkley Moore helped with five, and Tandie Cummins put four points.
The Lady Broncos shot 100% from the free throw line against Stratford, which made a big difference in the outcome of the game. Along with three big shots from Moore, two from Hayden Elam, and one from Conkin, the Lady Broncos were strong offensively. Moore finished with 17 points and hit four of four from the bonus line. Elam poured in 11 points and made all three free shots.
Defensively, the Lady Broncos are strong and their quickness and court sense allows them to make crucial steals and cause a number of turnovers. Smith added eight points to the board, while Shaw helped with four. Conkin put in three and Hayes and K. Cummins helped with two each.
The ladies will take on Canyon on Thursday, November 12 at 6:00 in the Bronco Gym and participate in the Slaton Tournament November 14-16.
