Hedley High School had a big day this week with multiple runners and the entire Owl team advancing at the District 1A Cross Country meet in American Legion Burt Woolridge Rodeo Arena in Claude.
The Owls again had the first place team, and Jordan Upton was second overall with a time of 19:18.

Those finishing in the top ten advance to regional, and Astin McAllister, who placed 12th with time of 21:42, will also advance as a member of the first place team.
Running for the Lady Owls, Cara Lambert posted a 7th place finish with a time of 14:32 and advances to regional. Emma Lambert ran 25th with a time of 16:25.
Coach Kim Harper says the runners have improved this season.
“Cross country is one of the hardest, most demanding sports there is, and they have all kept a good attitude and done everything asked of them,” Harper said. “Our goal is to compete at state and we are working very hard to achieve that goal. They continue to make not only myself proud, but their families, this school, and the community proud!”
