Jacqueline “Jackie” Dale Russell, 74, died Thursday, January 14, 2010.
In keeping with her final wishes, the family held a private memorial service.
Mrs. Russell was born February 22, 1935, in Canton, Ohio, to Roland and Roberta Morrow. Jackie married her lifelong partner and soul mate, Bill Russell on December 8, 1967 in Bremerton, Washington. As a career military family, Jackie and her children followed her husband to several naval installations stateside, an overseas tour to the Philippines, and to a remote base in the Aleutian Islands. Following 20 years of military service, Jackie and Bill resided in California, Colorado, and Ohio, eventually moving to Clarendon nearly 17 years ago. Not long after settling in Clarendon, Jackie resumed her career as a Special Education teacher at Clarendon Elementary until her retirement in 2000. An incredibly talented individual, Jackie enjoyed and was an especially gifted artist and seamstress, as well as a passionate animal lover. She was very much loved by all and will be missed dearly.
Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill who passes away in April, 2007.
Survivors include her three sons, Dan, Dave and Grey; two daughters, Vicki and Julie; her mother, Roberta Morrow; three brothers, David, Dick and John; three sisters, Judi, Molly, and Amy; along with 10 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Baptist Saint Anthony’s (BSA) Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
