Ivon Ellis Goodman Hardin died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the age of 82 in Amarillo.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, in the First Baptist Church in Clarendon with Rev. Larry White of Amarillo officiating. Burial was in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon with arrangements by Robertson Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Hardin was born on February 22, 1924, to William Hoyle and Ethel Traweek Ellis in Watonga, Okla. She married William Eugene “Billy” Goodman on June 5, 1940, at Sayer, Okla. He preceded her in death on September 18, 1988. She married Homer Hardin on November 22, 1990, at Clarendon. She was a resident of Clarendon most of her life.
She ran Goodman’s Furniture Store with her husband Billy and also worked at The Nook in Clarendon. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Clarendon where she was a Sunday school teacher and record keeper for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Goodman; one daughter, Barbara Jeanne Goodman; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Hardin of Clarendon; two daughters, Rhonda Looney and husband Randy of Amarillo and Janet Lewis and husband Bob of Lubbock; one step-daughter, Cynthia Lindley of Claude; two step-sons, Wayne Hardin of Clarendon and Dwight Hardin of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Shane Lewis and wife Donna, Nicci Attaway and husband Scott, and Jennifer Young and husband Greg; four great grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Goodman of New Jersey; and one sister-in-law, Allie Mae Maxey of Clarendon.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association or the Animal Rescue Shelter in Amarillo.
