Funeral services for Jill Sullivan, age 88, was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2002, at Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel in Amarillo with Dr. Howard Batson, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was held at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon under the direction of Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Sullivan died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born January 25, 1914, in Granbury, Texas, to James Hugh Goodwin and Nettie April Porter Goodwin. She moved to Amarillo in 1922 and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1932. She married C.L. “Jack” Sullivan on February 17, 1934. Mrs. Sullivan attended First Baptist Church. She and Jack were charter members of Paramount Baptist Church. Jill served as Director of Pre-School Children’s Activities at both First Baptist Church and Paramount Baptist Church and taught study courses in churches around the US in procedures for setting up departments for teaching children. Mrs. Sullivan moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1991 and attended Drexel Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lynn Hileman of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Dick Bailey of Heber City, Utah; one sister, Nancy Foster of Decatur, Texas; two brothers, David Goodwin of Decatur and Jerry Goodwin of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Christi Sheridan of Siletz, Oregon; Kathy Disney of Loveland, Colorado; and Mary Beth Bosmer of Dallas; and three great grandchildren, Bethany, David, and Deborah Disney of Loveland, Colorado.
