Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Walter Clifford, age 68, of Quinlan, Texas, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Quinlan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ben Smith officiating. Burial was held in Lakeside Memorial Park under the direction of Quinlan Funeral Home.
Mr. Clifford died Thursday, July 20, 2000, in Greenville, Texas. He was born July 9, 1932, in Clarendon to Walter E. Clifford and Dewey Mitchum Clifford. He graduated from West Texas State University and did graduate work at Texas Tech University. He married Wilma Jean Clifford. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a former member of the Quinlan City Council, Quinlan Lions Club, and Tawakoni Area Library Board. He was a real estate broker and retired businessman. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Jean Clifford of Quinlan; two sons, Randy Clifford of Dallas and Mike Clifford of Irving; one daughter, Cathy Clifford of Mesquite; two brothers, Jack Clifford and Fred Clifford, both of Clarendon; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers were John Clifford, Ben Clifford, Richard Moore, Ernest Stafford, Elbert Guant, and Ken Roper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be make to the Boles Children’s Home, 7065 Love, Quinlan, Texas 75474; Tawakoni Area Library; or to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Jackson Bldg., First Floor, Dallas, Texas 75231.
