Floyd Wayne Scalf of Lelia Lake died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at the age of 84.
Services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the Clarendon Church of Christ with graveside services to be held Friday, July 29 at 2 p.m. in Chillicothe. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.
Floyd was born January 24, 1932, near Matoy, Okla., to H.M. “Dock” Scalf and Clara Bell Peek Scalf. He had several brothers and sisters – Bonnie Fay Parsley of Frederick, Okla.; the late William Lee “Bill” Scalf; Cora Bell “Mut” Smith of Tilene, Ken.; Haskell Metz Scalf of Altus, Okla,; Gearld Rayland Scalf of Cordell, Okla.; the late James Ray Scalf; Wayland D. Scalf of Altus, Okla.; LaHonda June Carter of Altus, Okla.; and the late Sharon K. Scalf.
Floyd married Betty Louise James on October 20, 1951. He worked in oil fields in the Dakotas and in the Mayfair Grocery Store in California. He then married Opal Lorene (Hestand) Turvaville on August 21, 1973. They moved to Vernon, where he worked as an assistant manager in a grocery store until he retired. About ten years ago, they moved to Lelia Lake, where they lived with his stepson Carlton and wife Susan Turvaville. Floyd was a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; several brothers and sisters; one daughter, Shannon V. Tate of Visalia, Calif.; one son, Billy Wayne Scalf of Bakersfield, Calif.; two stepsons, Carlton Turvaville of Lelia Lake and Danny Odell Turvaville of Chillicothe; two stepdaughters, Regina Master of Clovis, Calif., and Belinda Humphrey of Pueblo, Colo.; 12 grandsons; two granddaughters; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, and one stepson, Johnny Edwin Turvaville of Chillicothe.

Linda Kay Longan Dunham
Linda Kay Longan Dunham died Monday, July 18, 2016, at the home of her daughter in Clarendon, after a battle with cancer.
Linda was born, February 2, 1950, in Clarendon, to P.C. “Chuck” and Mary Lee Longan. Linda graduated from Clarendon High School in 1968 and attended Clarendon College. During high school, Linda was involved in a variety of activities: Future Homemakers of America, officer, National Honor Society, Chorus, Bronchoette Drill Team, Track, Volleyball, and All-District Basketball Player. Linda was recognized as Most Dependable her senior year. Being dependable and versatile were qualities Linda never lost, as she was always available to help other.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Chuck and Mary Lee Longan and by her brothers Bobby Longan and Johnny Longan.
Linda leaves behind three brother, Gary Longan of Gallup, New Mexico, Tom Longan of Lelia Lake, and Billy Longan of Munday; and two sisters, Sandra Longan of Pampa and Marcia Mattes of Kansas City, Missouri. Linda was mother to two sons, Clay Dunham of Lubbock and Mac Dunham of Clarendon; and two daughters Amber Dunham and Jodi Dunham of Clarendon. Linda was “Meme” to 10 grandchildren and had several nieces and nephews.
Linda spent more than 20 years working with Wallace Monument in Clarendon and the remainder of her career with the Mental Health Association. Linda was loved and respected by co-workers and clients and passionate about helping others.
Linda’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, July 30, at 5:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Clarendon. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Donley County Senior Citizens.
Lynne Marie Mathiason
Lynne Marie Mathiason, 56, died Friday, July 22, 2016, at her home in Clarendon.
Memorial services in Texas were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016, in the Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Rev. Bill Hodges, officiating.
Memorial services in Montana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, in the Fallon Evangelical Church in Fallon, Mont.

Lynne Mathiason was born October 28, 1959, in Miles City, Mont., to Erling and Annette Mathiason. She spent her childhood years with her sister Karen on the family ranch. They explored and played in the hills and learned to love the land and animals. She went to grade school in Mildred and attended high school in Terry where she graduated in 1977. She enjoyed basketball and track, and qualified for state track her senior year. She attended Bartlesville Wesleyan College in Bartlesville, Okla., where she obtained an Associate’s degree and then transferred to Dickinson State College in Dickinson, North Dakota, completing a Bachelor’s Degree in math education.
Everywhere she went, Lynne made a lasting impact on communities and created lifelong bonds with people she met. Between college years, Lynne helped at home; and after finishing college, she got a teaching job in Clarendon where she taught until 1992. During this time, she also helped with youth groups and tried to show God’s love to everyone she met.
Lynne took a year off to go home and help her family, then returned to Texas and taught 1½ years in Amarillo. She then returned to Clarendon where she taught until she retired. She enjoyed keeping books at basketball games and also helping other people, as well as all God’s animals. There was never a stray cat that didn’t have a wonderful home in her care!
Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, Lee Stockett. She is survived by her sister, Karen Stockett, her niece, Jessica Stockett, and several cousins and their families.
Wesley Glen Mason
Wesley Glen Mason, 60, of Clarendon, formerly of Vega died Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in Robertson Funeral Directors Saints’ Roost Chapel in Clarendon with Bunk Skelton, officiating.

Wes was born October 1, 1955, in Dalhart to Melvin Samuel and Lorene Lenora Mason. He married Pamela Sue Johnston on March 20, 1976, in Clarendon. He had been a resident of Vega before moving to Clarendon in 2000. He was one of the best horseman, cowboy, and rancher. He was a 30-year member as a breeder of the American Quarter Horse Association. He participated in team roping and enjoyed performing in Ranch Rodeo. He was also a judge and worked the Ranch Rodeo in Clarendon for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Mason of Clarendon; a son, Keith Mason and wife Julia of Clarendon; 2 brothers, Sam Mason and wife Diane of Clayton, New Mexico and Jesse Mason and wife Margarite of Vega; a sister, Lenora Mason of Happy; 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Ashleigh, and Khloe.

Georgia Nadine Hancock Myers
Georgia Nadine Hancock Myers went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 9:31 a.m., Monday, June 27, 2016. Graveside service were held on June 28, at 2:00 p.m., at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
Nadine was born November 15, 1930, in Hall County to Isaac and Doshia Welch Hancock. Nadine was the only girl in the brood of Isaac and Doshia’s seven children. Nadine was spoiled by her brothers as her many stories attested.
She married Bobby Joe Myers, August 16, 1950, in Memphis. From this blessed union came three children; Lucinda Jane Myers, Joni Pat Chancellor and Dewey Bob Myers. Bobby Joe preceded her in death September 17, 2005.
Nadine was a member of the First Christian Church of Clarendon. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Nadine could always be found in her kitchen preparing delicious meals and treats for family and friends. Nadine and Bob spent most of their later married years traveling to her favorite destinations throughout Texas and beyond. She was the ‘Family Prayer Warrior’ and was continuously lifting her family and friends in prayer.
She is survived by her three children, her grandchildren, Doshia Chaison, Kathryn and J.P. Myers; her great grandchildren, Josh Holt, Jace Myers and Marlee Barbee.

Charles Wayne Smith, 93, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in Borger.

Charles Wayne Smith was born May 2, 1923, in Childress to Charlie Fortune and Dora Mae Cosper Smith. He married Virginia Idell Cook on April 24, 1943, in Lelia Lake. Charles worked as a Carpenter for many years, and had resided in Donley county numerous years before moving to East Texas for about 10 years. After moving to Borger 10 years ago, he was a member of Central Baptist Church. Charles enjoyed gardening, making things using bobwire, and reading his bible.
He was preceded by his parents; his wife, Virginia, on July 12, 2012; 2 daughters, Cynthia “Cindi” Smith in 2007, and Ella Jean Smith (infant); and 7 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Smith & wife Sandra of Silverton; his daughter, Cheryl Pickard & husband Jeff of Borger; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Leitha B. Shelley, 57, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, in Clarendon.

Rosary was said on Monday, June 20, 2016, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in the Church with Rev. Arokia Raj Samala as the celebrant.
Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clarendon.

Leitha was born June 14, 1959, in Grants, New Mexico to Harold and LaVon Martin. She married Sam Shelley, Jr. on August 20, 1977, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She had been a resident of Clarendon since 1993 and loved art, outdoors, and plants. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clarendon.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Harold Martin and James Abbott; and a brother, Brian Martin.
She is survived by her husband, Sam Shelley of Clarendon; her mother, LaVon Abbott of Lelia Lake; 2 sons, Samuel Shelley, III of Lubbock and Jeremy Shelley and wife Laura of Clarendon; 3 daughters, Luchi Shelley of Amarillo, Samara Shelley of Albuquerque, and Nicky Shelley of Clarendon; two sisters, Twila Crawford of Clarendon, and Mary Barnes of Amarillo; a brother, James Abbott of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Willie Mae Putman Creager
Willie Mae Putman Creager, 102, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, in Mobile, Alabama.

Willie Mae Putman Creager was born March 29, 1914, in Lakeview to Bill and Nina Lester Barbee. She married Lois Wright Putman and after his death in 1979, she married Manuel Creager. Willie Mae worked mostly as a homemaker all of her life, but did have several jobs around the community throughout the years. She lived all of her life in Donley County until 1988 when an injury forced her to move closer to a family member in Alabama.
She was preceded in death by his parents; first husband, Lois Putman, and second husband, Manuel Creager; her son, Wright Putman; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and a great grandson, Jeremy Tunnell.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Ola Mae Ladnier & husband Ed of Irvington, Alabama, Brenda Gay Usery & husband Jack of Logan, NM, and Trula Gean Shults of Perryton; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mary Sue Robison, 86, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Perryton.

Mary Sue Robison was born April 25, 1930, in Claude to Hiram H. and Montie Mae Collins Harred. She married L.D. Robison on May 24, 1947, in Amarillo. Mary had been a resident of Clarendon since 1983 where she and L.D. were members of the First Baptist Church. She was a great cook and a good mother who always provided for her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Robison, on October 23, 2013; her parents; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
She is survived by 2 sons, Lynn Robison & wife Nora of Perryton, and Gary Robison & wife Debbie of Mustang, Okla.; her sister, Roxie Stapp of Groom; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Jaussetta Faye Martin
Surrounded by loved ones, Jaussetta Faye Martin left her earthly body the evening of June 9, 2016. Completely restored by the hands of our Heavenly Father, she reunites with her husband Raymond Martin, her father CJ Messer, her mother Faeoline Messer and her brother Charles Messer.

Jaussetta was born December 24, 1936, in Chillicothe. She attended school in Memphis. She married Leon Rogers and together they welcomed a daughter, Terri. Jaussetta met and married the man she referred to as the love of her life, Raymond Martin, in 1962 in Paducah. They settled in Memphis where they raised their family. Jaussetta worked for many years beside her husband at their business, Williams Oil and Gas. She later opened her own dress shop, The Place for Fashion on Main Street in Memphis. She participated in countless organizations, serving on boards of many of them, and had an enormous passion for her community and love for the people in it. Always the life of the party, and likely the woman in charge of it, Jaussetta is remembered most for her love of life and her family. She was an original.
Jaussetta leaves behind her daughter Terri Floyd of Clarendon, Steve Martin and wife Ginny of Memphis and Danny Ray Martin and wife Vivian of Memphis. She was affectionately referred to as “Granny” by nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, dozens of nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
