Clarendon’s Ranger Drenth lifted well over his body weight in total pounds lifted at the Childress Powerlifting Meet last week. Drenth lifted in the 190-pound class and had a total lift of 1, 005 pounds. He posted 370 in the squat, 225 in the bench, and dead-lifted 410 pounds to earn first place in his division.
Eleven Broncos competed in the meet, and all walked away with top 10 finishes and posted personal bests in the meet. Jared Musick and Bryce Williams brought home second-place awards in their respective weight classes. Musick lifted a total of 985 pounds in the 184-pound class and had lifts of 325 in the squat, 260 in the bench, and 400 in the deadlift. Williams marked good numbers in the 153-pound weight class with 315 in the squat, 205 in the bench press, and 380 in the deadlift. Overall, Williams had a lift total of 900 pounds.
Mason Allred did a great job lifting 985 pounds in the 167-pound division with lifts of 355 in the squat, 225 in the bench, and 405 in the deadlift. Coulter Wortham received third place with a lift total of 860 pounds in the 193-pound class. He lifted 290 in the squat, bench pressed 220, and had a deadlift of 350. Kaleb Mays lifted his way to third place as well posting a lift total of 730 pounds in the 119-pound class with lifts of 255 in the squat 175 in the bench, and 300 in the deadlift. Nolan Burrow was fourth in the 260-pound class and lifted a total of 835 pounds. Burrow lifted 275 in the squat, 225 in the bench and 335 in the deadlift.
Brice Wagner was fifth in the 157-pound division with lifts of 325, 185, and 330 for 840 pounds overall. Zack Roberts lifted 300, 210, and 315 for a lift total of 825 pounds in the 206 class and Rowdy Bebout lifted in the 207-pound class and finished 6th with a total of 815 pounds. He lifted 315 in the squat, 185 in the bench, and 315 in the deadlift. Dalton Coles placed 10th in the 158 class with lifts of 240, 185, and 325 respectively for an overall total of 750 pounds.
The Lady Broncos will lift again in Childress on Feb. 8, and the Broncos will lift again Feb. 15.
