Funeral services for Richard E. Nall, age 72, of Wellington were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2002 at the First United Methodist Church with Danny Jones of Calgary, Alberta, and Danny Davidson of Memphis, officiating. Burial was held in North Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Wellington.
Mr. Jones died Tuesday, October 8, 2002, in Memphis. He was born on September 30, 1930, in Folley, Texas, to James E. Nall and Ottie Mae Folley Nall. He was a MoorMan Feed Representative since 1964. He attended school in Turkey and graduated from Flomot in 1948. He married Jane Jones on September 17, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico. She died in 1994. He attended Tarleton State University. He came to Wellington in 1960 from Flomot. He was a cowboy for the Mill Iron Ranch from 1960 to 1964. He had been an active horse trader since he was six years old.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Juandell Nall, in 1927.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ricky Nall and Linda of Childress and Jim Bob Nall and Diana of Shamrock; one daughter, Leigh Blakemore of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters, Jimmie Dean Ballinger of Foruna, California, and Erma Lorene “Ermie” and Bill Dean Washington of Flomot; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Johnny Holton, Don Donaldson, Richard Sims, Glenn Harris, Harve Williams, and Kenny Tunstall. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Lynn Bartlett, Wayne Cudd, Sam McGill, Robert Proctor, John Holton, and Texas/New Mexico MoorMan Feed Representatives.
Memorials may be made to the Cemetery Association of Wellington, Turkey, or Flomot.
